2024 Grenache Blanc

Floral, stonefruit, lemon drop, ripe, soft palate, rich, complex

Grenache Blanc is believed to be a genetic mutation of red Grenache, with origins in Spain.  It is now more associated with the Rhone Valley, where it plays an important role in both white and red blends from the region, including Cotes du Rhone Villages.  This wine is 100% varietal and comes from a small vineyard near Camino.  Barrel-fermented and aged on the lees for 15 months.

2024 sauvignon Blanc

Honeysuckle, lemon peel, melon, ripe pear, gardenia, mineral

A blend of 60% stainless steel and 40% barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc, this delicious wine has high note citrus and floral aromas with subtle notes of mineral and French Oak.  On the palate it is dense and flavorful, with a full mid-palate and long, structured finish.  Rich enough to pair with crab cakes and grilled chicken, its bright acidity and freshness makes it an ideal aperitif.

2024 El Dorado Dolcetto

Cherry turnover, floral, crushed raspberries, perky

Native to the rolling foothills of the Alps in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy, the grapes for this wine were grown alongside the south fork of the American River in Coloma by Josie and Patrick O’Connor.  Young and vibrant, with red fruit aromas, French Oak  and a lively palate, it is a perfect companion to Italian food, grilled meat and hard cheese.

 2023 ascoli red blend

Dark fruit, plum, anise, medium-body, smooth, dry finish

This blend of Montepulciano (66%) and Sangiovese (34%)  is a nod to my parents’ home-town of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche region of central Italy, where wine is the indispensable companion to everyday dining and an integral part of “La Dolce Vita”.

2023 Aglianico

Ripe plum, dark chocolate, woodsy, blackberry pie, graphite, vanilla

Considered one of the great grapes of Italy, this ancient variety is thought to have originated in Greece over two thousand years ago!  Complex and muscular, it has an abundance of firm tannin and good acidity.  Enjoy this big wine with grilled meat and savory well-aged cheese.

angelica

Berries, dried figs, roasted nuts, molasses, and leather.

Made from 140 year-old Mission grapevines from Rinaldi Vineyards in the Fiddletown AVA  of Amador County. Angelica is a style of wine that dates back to the Mission period of  California, the mid 1770's. It is made from vines originally brought from the Canary Islands  as Listan Prieto and later dubbed "Mission" because of its association with the Church.  Unlike most wines, Angelica is made with little or no fermentation; Brandy is added to the  juice or must, bringing the alcohol level up to 18-20%. The young wine is then aged in  barrel, in some cases many years before release. Our Angelica is a blend of numerous  vintages and has an average age of 9 years.

fortified muscat

Apricot, orange-rind, honeysuckle, butterscotch

Made in the style of a port with a combination of Orange Muscat and Muscat Canelli, this wine was fortified with brandy half-way through fermentation and aged in French Oak barrels for 18 months.  It is vibrantly fruity and complex, with good sweetness and cleansing acidity.
